Hey great job to everyone at TechSmith. This was fun, intuitive, and educational. The stream could have been a little better but, it was alright. The videos you saved do not seem to be playing when I click the links. Any ideas? Well, keep up the great work and we will have to do this again sometime. Maybe jump right into the videos showing users how to do things outlined in the software and then some Q & A. I had a great time and look forward to seeing TechSmith offer more of these events.

Hey Fred,
Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for watching! We'll look into ways to improve the streaming as we do more of these types of events. As for the posted videos of the individual shows, they will play, but unfortunately due to the way they were created, at the moment they will not stream (meaning you will need to wait for the entire movie to load, sometimes as much as 400MB).
Thanks again for joining us, and hopefully you will do so again for the next event!

Wow!! Congrats to Betsy and all for making it through #Snagit24. :P Definitely came away with a greater appreciation for the thought that goes into creating the Techsmith products.

Any chance getting them in a portable format? iPod or Pad? Too nice to be stuck inside....

@Bradford: Here you go! I can't guarantee these will be available forever, but I'll leave them there at least for a while.

(note: these videos might not stream, but since you're wanting them for the iPhone/iPod anyway, I'm assuming that's not a huge problem?)

Can you give us the details of the hardware and software as well as the order and processes implemented to create the tutorial videos?
Thanks.

Howdy Kelly,
Yes, I will attend the next event like this and any others I can. Is it possible for you to make these videos downloadable from screencast for us? It would be nice considering the size of these videos to be able to just download them instead of waiting for the entire stream. Let us know and thanks.

@Fred G.
Betsy will have to make the switch on the main HD videos. I did fix them now so that they can stream though, if that works for you.
Additionally, if you check the link I posted a bit ago, with the iPhone/iPod version, I have enabled those videos to be downloadable.

It took about 15 minutes to play the first minute of the first video listed, which was a waste of time--odd kazoo music. I'm not going to bother watching them if they won't play and have too much crap in them.

@kentuckyliz: Depending on your Internet connection speed, these might take a while to download. They are 720p HD video files, some of them up to 400MB in size. On a slower connection, this might indeed take a while to begin streaming!
If you're on a slower connection, you might want to try the iPod versions of the videos, as they are only about 10% as big as the HD videos. You can find them here:

(the intro music plays a bit longer in the first video, as we were still setting up; subsequent videos usually have only a 30-second intro)

Once again, can you give us the details of the hardware and software as well as the order and processes implemented to create the tutorial videos?
If that's too hard can you at least tell us what video camcorder you used? Did you record the presenters in while simultaneously recording the screen captures using Camtasia for Mac v1.1?
Thanks.

Kelly and I will make a video showing the configuration of the studio plus the hardware and software we used. We'll give a tour of our new space as well.
We'll post it as soon as we can. So, keep the questions coming so we can be sure to answer them in the video/post.

I am not able to watch any of these videos. I know my connection is fast enough to watch videos of this size in real time but most of these never start or if they do stop every minute or so.

I would like to watch the videos, but I have the same problems noted previously with the streaming. Using the iPod/iPhone versions is not an option. I have an adequate Internet connection. Can you reproduce the videos in a manner to make them viewable, please?

Would you consider making the files smaller by downgrading their size to like half so we can load them faster?
I have an extremely fast connection at work in a software company, but cannot watch the videos in real-time because of the loading. I let 1/3 of the 7 min video download but could only watch approximately 60% of it before it caught up with the download.
I think there is no need to have full 720P if we are trying to just get some information.
Whatdya say?
