Posted on Wednesday September 2, 2009 by Betsy Weber

Troy Stein, the Camtasia for Mac Product Manager, and I need your help.

We are going to do some screencasts on Thursday to give you some tips and tricks about Camtasia for Mac. And, we want to make sure we're answering your questions. What questions did you have, what would you like us to talk about, or show you about Camtasia for Mac?

Mike Lougee :

Because schools are usually a combination of Mac and Windows platforms, anything which shows tips/tricks/integration involving both C4M and CS would be great.

Hi Troy!

Thanks for a great product! Is there a way to get Camtasia for Mac to to filter a green screen and put a different background behind a speaker?

Hi Troy!

Is there a way to have Camtasia filter a Green Screen and combine to videos using one as a background?

(sorry if this posted twice)

Thanks,
Brad

Hi Tony,

It would be nice to have a way to have markers/a way to make chapters in Camtasia for Mac.

Hmmm, it is already Friday, a day too late....just put them on the list for next time then.

Since the screencast will probably also attract first time Camtasia users, you'll probably need the full set of screencast. So stuff like "record", "edit", "produce", "how to record good audio" (With tips like: "don't just use the build in microphone!" and "how to record the audio produced by the application"; I had to use a USB headset on my Macbook since it doesn't have a regular microphone-in)

Then of course a number of screencasts for users of both platforms (main differences, re-using recordings etc).

It would be nice to be able to copy Transitions, Filters and Actions of specific time line media files and paste it quickly into other files in the time line. When I import jpgs I currently need to adjust each one by dragging and dropping each element. If a copy and paste function were available it would make the process easier and faster.
BTW, thanks for a great Mac product. I've enjoyed Camtasia since v1.1.1 and the Mac version was well worth the wait and I'm excited about the potential it has going forward. Keep up the great work! Tom

When I change the color of an arrow using the colorization filter, is there a way for me to remove the gradient and have just the solid color that I choose apply?

Justin Hunter :

Troy,

Please contact me. I love the product but am experiencing huge problems trying to save files or export files.

I'd be happy to help you guys trouble-shoot this problem. I suspect that it is impacting more people than just me.

I've had 20 plus major failures and counting. Each time, I need to revert to an earlier saved version so it is becoming a huge time drain. I would simply ditch the product at this point and search for something else, but it is clear that Camtasia for Mac is otherwise perfect for my needs.

Thank you.

- Justin

Hey Troy,

Ever since I updated 1.01 I can no longer edit iSight .mov recordings.
640x480. I can import the .mov, but as soon as I try to drag it to the timeline I get an unexpected error and crash. Any thoughts?

thx,

Steve
