History of Online Video - The Last 5 Years...

Posted on Tuesday November 2, 2010 by Betsy Weber

Think about the last 5 years in tech... Things have changed so much in the last few years. Camtasia was released just over 10 years ago. YouTube officially launched in 2005. With smartphones, tablets and other mobile devides, we can watch videos anywhere at anytime.

We worked with The Blog Herald to create an infographic showing the history of online video over the last 5 years. It's awesome to see the data the Blog Herald analyzed, shown visually.

What do you think the future holds for online video? Any predictions?

Great infographic guys. I'm encouraged to see that 38% of users watch educational videos. This trend has great implications for mobile learning. Video and screencasts that are optimized for mobile playback, should continue to see rapid growth when combined with mobilized web & performance support sites.
