Camtasia Studio Walkthrough
Posted on Wednesday March 25, 2009 by Betsy Weber

Remember those math story problems you had to do in school growing up? I know, I'm trying to forget them too. :-) They'd walk you through a scenario (A freight train leaves the station traveling 30 mph... ) and you'd work your way through the math problem. These exercises would help you learn some new fundamentals in math.
Matt Pierce, our Training Manager, has created something similar - a Camtasia Studio Walkthrough that will take you through a project to learn the fundamentals of Camtasia Studio. You can find the PDF here. Feel free to print it, pass it out at work or in your presentation, email it... share it any way possible!
Like this type of resource? What else could you use? We're always looking for new ways to help you!

I currently use Scate Ignite to create online presentations in E Learning. and I like it! However, I also like Camtasia. Is there a way to output Camtasia presentations in a format that can be easily imported into Scate Ignite.

A very nice document, really helpful for the beginner. Some easy additional thoughts are...
1) Similar walkthroughs for Snagit, Jing, Screencast.com, etc;
2) Some ways in which there could be an extended discussion/critique about these documents, between creators (like Matt) and users of the documents (like us), in order to improve the walkthroughs.
3) Perhaps a few more walkthroughs, in greater depth, for especially important functions of the products (eg using Camtasia to record a PPT presentation, using Screencast.com to distribute a lecture, etc).
Thanks, Betsy, for your invite to let us suggest more work for you folks!

@Mike,
Thank you so much for the feedback. It's good to hear what people need and want.
A little background on the document. This is a project we do in face-to-face settings. So some of the things that we included come from seeing where people struggle and listening to their questions.
I am definitely open for suggestions. If you want you can contact me directly (m[dot]pierce[at] techsmith[dot]com). It sounds like you have some good ideas, I'd love to hear what you or others think would be the next best project like this.
We can't meet everyone's demands [we like to sleep and see our families :)] - but if we can create materials that we know will be helpful than that is a big double ++ for us.
There is a link to a survey on Page 2 - you can also provide feedback that way, if you would like.
Thanks again, and don't hesitate to let us know what types of materials and topics are helpful.
Best,
Matt Pierce
