Training Video 7 - Screencast.com

Posted on Tuesday January 15, 2008 by Betsy Weber

Ever upload a wrong file or have outdated content? Well, sometimes you need to delete that content. Matt Pierce made a quick screencast for the Training video series all about deleting media in Screencast.com.

Watch the video below to see how to delete media - It’s a short one at 1:26.

What training videos would you like to see next?

Seems like the training videos all month are starting to fizzle. Missing one for Monday and running out of ideas.

Hi Todd,

Thanks for your comment. A couple things I'd like to clarify, and then ask for your thoughts.

First Betsy is traveling, so we're providing these to her, and she is posting as she is able to find time in her busy schedule. As for missing Monday the Screeencast.com video was slated for Monday, and we plan to have another video go up today.

As for running out of ideas... not sure what you mean? One of the goals of this project to post tutorials that would help users. In part of determining what videos to create we have been looking at feedback from a lot of different sources across the different products, including our technical support and customer feedback.

So for instance, the Screencast.com video was created because customers were asking how to delete unwanted media. Also, for anyone using Jing with a trial version of Screencast.com could potentially need to delete older media to make room for newer images and video.

If you have a topic that you'd like to see us create a tutorial for, or would like to share with us what you think makes videos sizzle (rather than fizzle), please let me know and we'll see what we can do.

Best Regards,

Matt

todd - actually, I read the very short article, then watched the very short
video in advance of reading your comments.
my first response to the combination article/screencast was 180 degrees
opposite yours -
it seems like these postings are only getting better - starting to "sizzle" with
yet-briefer 'casts -- to the point, easy to nibble on and digest, and very
relevant. sort of "rapid e-learning" - in practice. lots to learn, on this
site - about product, project, and techniques. I'm extremely curious
as to what the "minimum" screencast is... (Camtasia isn't always used
with a great deal of sensitivity to audience or student needs - the
single SWFs are pushing some videos now to higher and higher
limits, so yes, I've seen the maximum size there, as well. just another
way to say I'm glad to see someone pushing these limits in the opposite
direction.
Screencasts are like emails - ;-)

lovin' what I'm seein', from this side. and, jealous of Betsy's current
assignment, to be sure.

Thanks Todd and russellg for the comments. I am on the road at Macworld in California so that means I'm on Pacific Time but my computer is on Eastern Standard Time. So, sometimes I post before midnight in California, but that's 3am according to my computer so hence the discrepancy on posts. Next week I will be in Germany so I suspect I'll be off on posting the videos as well. :-)

russellg - glad you like them. You made my day... :-) We'll keep them coming...
