TechSmith Training hits the road...

Posted on Tuesday February 13, 2007 by Betsy Weber

Just getting started with Camtasia and want to take a class about it? Well, you're in luck! Our Trainers will be hitting the road to conduct classes around the country.

I had the Training Manager, Matt Pierce, sit down with me to share more about himself, the Camtasia Studio classes and our Learning Center for a screencast. Click the screenshot below to launch the video. The video runs just over 5 minutes.

The classes run 2 days and are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Here's the schedule so far:

  • Seattle February 27 - 28
  • East Lansing March 20 - 21
  • Washington D.C. April 17 - 18

If you come to the East Lansing, Michigan class, I'd love to give you a tour of the office and you can meet the different teams. Who can turn that down? Plus, all the snow just might be gone - no guarantees. ;-)

You can find more information and sign-up for training here.

Where else would you like us to come and conduct training?

Betsy:
I thought I saw a screencast that Brooks did on how to do that - which brings me to another question. How can I search for previously viewed screencasts on Techsmith that I have found useful, but not have bookmarked?

Thanks.

Oops!!! my title did not print. How did you do the 3D page flips in the video?

I'll let Kelly Rush chime in. He did the editing and production on the video.

Also, we're looking to update the blog and it should be easier to find things (tags, etc).

Hey Richard,

This was actually a pretty easy effect, but I had to outsource the video to Adobe Premiere for a bit to get it to work.

Basically, I had two layers of video, the camera video, and the screencast video. To get the effect to work, I simply changed the settings for the position and scale of each video, and then applied a "Perspective >> Basic 3D" effect to add the rotation effect.

Once all that was done, I brought the video back into Camtasia Studio so that I could take advantage of all the different production options available (as well as to get the video live to Screencast.com).

Hope that helps!
