We need your help for the next release of Camtasia Studio
Posted on Thursday November 9, 2006 by Betsy Weber
Now that Camtasia Studio v4 is out, it is time to start thinking about the next release.
So, if you were the Product Manager, what would add or change in Camtasia Studio for the next release? Any features you'd like added?

Also, there's an old saying in the world of video: "keep going, we'll fix it in post-production." Most problems can be edited out later.
There's another philosophy which is, don't edit, simply re-record.
So, as it relates to Camtasia Studio, do you re-record or "fix it in post"? And why? What new features or changes would you like to see for the next release?
We're always looking for ways to improve Camtasia Studio so any input you can provide would be really helpful.
UPDATE: We have a handy survey if you'd like to give us your input: http://www.zoomerang.com/survey.zgi?p=WEB225UPJYMN2Z

Hi from Brazil.
It would be nice to be able to export from a range selected on Camtasia Studio's timeline.

Marcos,
You can currently do that in CS 4.0.

Are you going to partner with Google? It would be great if in Google Earth you could access a satellite map of a particular region, zoom in to pinpoint a particular feature of the region, and then click a "Bomb This Location" button (Google Earth doesn't currently offer this feature). Then it would be great if the satellite map would show an animated explosion, mushroom cloud, and crater over the selected region. You could then, for a fee, opt to record the explosion sequence using the embedded Camtasia Studio, and then send an e-greeting card to someone with the filmed bombing sequence. How fun, and what a great and harmless way to vent a little steam.

I'd love to see a way to customize the "screencast loading" image. I don't have Flash software and would like a DIY on the cheap way to add a logo and alternate text there.

IT would be nice if the new version included a better CODEC for true video. Camtasia is so much more powerful that Windows moviemaker, but we need the ability to retain the video quality.
