And, now a word about Evangelism...
Posted on Monday November 27, 2006 by Betsy Weber
I've said it before, I'll say it again...I love our users, our products, TechSmith and my job! I feel very lucky to have a job where I enjoy going to work everyday...

We're ready to expand our department more! This is where you come in...
We have a newly created position to join our team - Special Market Liaison. You can find out about the position here.
How did I started in evangelism? I started as the Product Manager for Camtasia at TechSmith which I loved doing - I got to work with our users and all different departments at TechSmith. In 2003, we all read the book, the Tipping Point at TechSmith. From there, I decided it was something I wanted to do full time and thankfully the President of TechSmith, Bill Hamilton, allowed me to do create a new position. I was the first person with the evangelist title at TechSmith and I've been doing it for the last three years. My job is based on two books, the Tipping Point and Creating Customer Evangelists These two books changed my life and I cannot live without them! I highly recommend them for everyone!
You may be wondering what kind of activities does this role do?
You'll need to do just as much (if not more) listening as talking. I attend several conferences and events a year to get feedback and talk with our users. I speak at shows, work in the booth, coordinate meet-ups with users, etc. And, I make sure the user's voice is heard at TechSmith.
I'm an evangelist for our evangelists! I spread the word about them online and offline - at tradeshows, on the blog and our website, and internally at TechSmith.
Get ready to write! You'll be doing lots of e-mail and writing in general!
There is no typical day. Everyday is different. I love that!
You'll be doing all these things and more. Read about the position here.
You're either suited for it or not. I usually tell people, it's not a job, it's a way of life! You gotta have passion and believe in our products, the people who use them and TechSmith. If you don't, who will?
If you think, "I can do that!", I want to hear from you! E-mail me! Or, if you know someone who you think would be a good fit, would you forward this to them?

Hello there!
Thank you for the great technology!
As a Camtasia user I hope not too many competitors use it as well (oops, not good for you)...
But, er, anyway, if you need someone to market your products here in Brazil, just let me know. Haha!
Best Wishes.
Marcos

How come it says 1 comment but there are no comments? Am I seeing things correctly?

I'm not sure what's going on with comments.
There should be 3 comments total including this one. I deleted 2 spam comments this morning.
I'll have to ask IT what's going on.
