Inspired by Nick Hodges - 30 videos in 30 days...
Posted on Monday September 25, 2006 by Betsy Weber
Remember Nick Hodges from Delphi? He was making 30 Camtasia Studio videos in 30 days. Well, he's inspired us to do the same! Troy Stein, the Camtasia Studio Product Manager, is making 30 videos in 30 days about Camtasia Studio!
Up this week topics will range from recording tips to recording Vista and PowerPoint to editing with precision. Tune in each day for a new, exciting video.
So, let's get started. Today's video is all about recording tips like highlighting the cursor and smoothing it, as well as learning about "Take 2" markers and using F9 to pause...Click the screenshot below to start the video.
Any topic or feature you'd like to see covered in the next 29 videos?

How'd you do the bottom-side navigation, Troy? Persistent callout?

BTW, four topics in a single day? What a bargain!
But you might want to pace yourself if you'll be doing this for 30 days...
Fantastic idea, incidentally.

Thanks for the great tips, especially the mouse-smoothing and the marker tips.
Are the next 29 Tips also featured on this blog?
Greetings

Good catch, Daniel! Yeah, the navigation at the bottom were callouts.
You wanna know how I really did this? I'm sure you already know this Daniel, but for the benefit of others... :-)
I made my recording at 720x480 b/c our training group thinks we might make a DVD out of the videos some day.
But then I realized the videos were a bit too long for most people, imho, so I added thought to add some navigation. So I took the video which was 720x480 and essentially expanded the canvas by producing the video at 720x600 (non-stretched). Then I brought that video into a new project and zoomed into 720x540. This gave me extra space at the bottom to layer on my navigation... Maybe I'll make a video of it.
:-)

Hi Patrick - yep, we'll be running them on the blog. Day 2 is up. They might end up in the newsletter as well.
