Creating a side-by-side video presentation with Camtasia Studio
Posted on Thursday September 15, 2005 by Betsy Weber
The product manager for Camtasia Studio,Troy Stein, was asked by a customer this week, how to present twovideos in a side-by-side layout: powerpoint on one side andcamera video on the other.

It takes some doing (this is not for the faint of heart) but the results can look quite nice.
Time: 8:40 minutes
If you've made Camtasia Studio videos like this, I'd love to show them off to our blog and newsletter readers! Send me an email or please leave comments.

SnagIt Editor has an option to join two graphic files together. Why not add this option to Camtasia Studio for AVI files? Even better for all the files that Camtasia supports? There are programs out there already that can join video files together. Since Camtasia Studio deals with videos files this should be pretty easy to add. If Camstasia Studio had an overlay option then a frame/border could be added right over the little white line that seperates the two videos. Or maybe just make some special callouts, or stamps (like SnagIt Studio has) to deal with borders of joined video files.

Hi Trina,
Thanks for the comment...So, tell me more! What programs join video files together like that?
I've also sent your comment to the Camtasia Studio team so they know your request. I appreciate the feedback.

The link to the screen cast on this page no longer works. I would like to see how to create a side-by-side video presentation with Camtasia Studio and powerpoint.

I need to create a presentation in powerpoint with dual videos side by side. Your page mentions and has a link to a screencast that seems to be broken or doesn't exist anymore. Can you tell me where to find that information please.

I see similar comments on the broken link. I need to create a presentation in ppt and video (side by side). Did anyone find that URL to screencast?

Use Video Edit Magic, add two videoclips (one cam, one screen recording...) and use the "Picture Arrange" transition during the entire clip. Then save, import in Virtual Dub and resize/post edit. Good luck :)
